Title: As Above, So Below by sharklion Fandom: Yu Gi Oh GX Character/Pairing: Jim Crocodile Cook, Axel Brodie Jim Crocodile Cook/Axel Brodie Word Count: 525 Warnings: implied character death Summary: Prompt: Last kiss, Jim/O'Brien. Crossover with 5Ds but no appearance of 5Ds characters. “It takes them a good fifteen years, before the punishment for their good deeds catches up with them.” Why I Rec This Fic: Axel and Jim are my fav thing we get introduced to in S3, they are both very interesting characters and admirable brave souls. This had me choking up, I love characters putting duty first, finding and fighting for a cause, i love couples who respect eachothers choices and strenghts and a bit of tragedy and suddenly I want all kind of stories about them in that world.(And the line: „Walls go up, travel gets hard.“ gets extra bang! With Trump and his politics.)

Title: Hopscotch by Two-Headed Boy Fandom: Back to the future Character/Pairing: Lorrain, George Mcfly, Lorrain/George Mcfly Summary: Lorrain would like to kiss George again. Word count: 1211 Why I Rec This Fic: I love Lorrain and have found no other fic that has her characterication down like this (or even fic that is focused on her at all), and of cause i am weak for the soft (if slightly nsfw) exploration of sexuality and gender. Its a hopeful fic, about people finding their true self and that makes me happy.
When they come to the hopscotch pattern, Lorraine follows it idly, hitching up her skirt and clumping through the familiar motions even in her nice pair of heels. When she reaches the end, she turns back, trying to find George; she is surprised to see him hopping over the squares the way that she had.

Also not something i can personal relate to (i always failed spectacular at everything) but gifted kids and the fear of failure – written beautiful.

"A kenning is a Norse poetic trope, a circumlocutory compound that describes a person, place or thing. They can be straightforward (like “ring-giver” for “king”) or complex, even riddling.“ Given this associations, the fic use free interpretations to show a fleshed out 3dimensional picture of a female character that I already love in canon but could always use more exploring.

Title: Hearts and Their Consumption by setepenre_set Fandom: Howl Series - Diana Wynne Jones Character/Pairing: Sophie Hatter, Howl Pendragon, Calcifer, Sophie Hatter/Howl Pendragon Summary: AU: “Wizard Howl eats hearts. This isn’t just a metaphor.” Word Count: 3058 Why I Rec This Fic: My favorite fic for this fandom so far: Its Calcifers pov and so brings interesting outside perspective (Howl and Sophies relationship is – there are lots of fic about them right after the end of the book, sweet marriage proposals and bickering but – I have a hard time getting into them as a couple, so I really like this look at them) and let the theme of this fic shine with the parallel of dependency/choice – in relationships. The writing style really creates a fairytale mood, and for me feels almost poetic.

Title: getting out of here alive by words-writ-in-starlight (Gunmetal_Crown) Fandom: Hellboy, Constantine (2005) Character/Pairing: John Constantine, Hellboy John Constantine & Hellboy, Hellboy & Trevor Bruttenholm Summary: “John goes to find an old friend, after he gets word of a small disaster in Moscow that almost ended the world.” Word Count: 3060 Warnings: Christan Religious Imagery & Symbolism, canon character death, guilt Why I Rec This Fic: This is one of the fics that just made me cry, the first time around so much that I couldnt even write a comment (and the second time around too) – because my favorite relationship in Hellboy canon is the one between Hellboy and his father, Hellboys feeling about it all, really hit, and felt true to the source material. Hellboys humor is also nailed here. No knowledge of Constantine needed (said as I know nothing about it, and the author made me like the character and the relationship he has with Hellboy anyway).

I am very happy. The voices for them are great and I specialy love the respect/love the writer has for Iris kind of strengh (as I have seen lots of characters like her being mistreated by fandom).

Title: gathers no moss by bluewalk Fandom: One Piece Word count: 10754 Character/Pairing: Sanji, Gin, Strawhats, Red-Leg Zeff Summary: Future Fic (Ruffy is pirate king the strawhats seperated) Sanji (and Gin) growth and heal. Why I Rec This Fic: I love the writing style and the way it makes me want to see Sanji grow healthy, happy and all (Gin too but that is even in canon because i am weak). It made me cry a lot but its a story about growing and healing, and the love feels very warm. It is tagged with: #zeff’s story is the story of an immigrant parent and you cannot convince me otherwise - and thats why i read it no lie - totally worth it.

I would count out all my days like coins to place in your palm and still it would not be enough for what I’ve taken from you, for all the possibilities like universes without end that even together amount to less than your singular sacrifice.
